Snap to Beats

After detecting beats, enable Snap A/B to Beats in the beat menu. Endpoints set with the ruler, SET A/B, or loop edges snap to nearby beat lines.

When to Use It

Snapping helps align loops spanning whole beats or several complete measures. Check that the lines are accurate first; inaccurate detection leads to inaccurate snapping.

For pickups, ornaments, note tails, or practice ranges that do not span whole beats, disable snapping and set the range manually. Loops do not have to land on beat lines.

Shift by Half a Beat

If beat spacing looks right but all lines lie between the desired beats, try Shift by Half a Beat, then verify with the metronome.

It shifts only half a beat, so it cannot fix every misalignment or replace redetection in sections with tempo changes. For an inaccurate section, reanalyze the selection.

Shift by Half a Beat is unavailable at 2× beat line density.
