Save as a Project

Workspace and Saved Projects

After importing media, your current edits are in the workspace. By default, it is restored on the next launch, but there is only one workspace: opening another song or importing new media replaces its contents.

To keep your work long term, save it as a project. A project contains:

• The current audio or video media.
• Saved clips' ranges, colors, and notes.
• Speed, pitch, channel, and EQ settings.
• Detected beats and saved stem separation results.
• The project name, description, theme color, and global note.

A temporary A/B selection is not a saved clip. To keep a practice range, save it as a clip first.

Save and Save As

On a phone, choose Save from the menu, or tap the project name at the lower left and save in Project Info. On a tablet or in a browser, use the Save button at the top.

The first save requires a name, with a default such as “Project 1.” Save As creates a new project. Subsequent edits are saved to that copy, while the original remains.

Close Project returns to a blank workspace. If there are unsaved changes, follow the prompt to decide how to handle them first.

Project Info and Save Status

On a phone, tap the project name below the progress bar; on a tablet or in a browser, tap the project name at the top. Edit the name, description, notes, and theme color here.

Unsaved changes are indicated by amber highlighting, an asterisk, or a pulsing dot beside the project name. Saving restores the gray dot. Saving usually does not show another popup; use this status to confirm it.

Changing speed, pitch, clips, or the theme color marks the project as changed. Simply selecting a temporary A/B range does not mean a new clip has been saved.

Stems Need Saving Too

Instrument separation first creates results in the current workspace. To keep them with the project for later, save after separation completes. “Separate & save” in the panel performs both steps.

After opening a package containing stems in a browser, save any mix changes before exporting the package to another device.

Local Storage and Backups

Project names can include Chinese characters and emoji. Projects, audio settings, and notes are saved on the current device; browser projects are saved in the current browser environment.

Saving locally is not an off-device backup. Before changing devices or clearing browser data, export a project package. Interface arrangements are managed separately by the Layout Library and do not travel with project packages.
