Sound and Bluetooth

Bluetooth Latency

Bluetooth headphones may make sound lag behind your hand movements. This may be unnoticeable during ordinary listening but clearer when scrubbing back and forth. The app shows a prompt when it detects high wireless output latency. Select “Don't remind me again” in the prompt to stop showing it.

For more immediate audible feedback, try wired headphones or the device speaker and compare how they feel.

Sharing Headphones Between Devices

Headphones with automatic device switching, such as AirPods, switch to the device producing sound. GrooveJog uses the headphones only during playback, pads, metronome/Count-in, or scrubbing. When scrubbing while paused, it takes them only once the disc or waveform actually moves. Opening a project, returning to the app, tapping the waveform while paused, or dragging the progress bar does not take them.

After 30 seconds paused, GrooveJog releases the headphones, letting another device take them when it begins producing sound. Lock screen and headphone Play buttons still resume playback, at which point GrooveJog takes the headphones again. If they are on another device, the system may take a moment to switch back.

No Sound

  1. Check system media volume, the output device, and in-app volume.
  2. Check whether Count-in is running or the track has ended.
  3. Check for all stems muted, or a soloed stem with zero volume.
  4. Return the channel to Stereo to rule out Left/Right Channel selection.
  5. Pause and play again. If headphones or audio output just changed, try reconnecting the output device too.

These are troubleshooting steps; no single recovery method is guaranteed for every device situation.

Stops After Switching Apps, a Call, or Locking

Calls, other players, or system audio policies may interrupt playback. Return to GrooveJog and check its state. On Android, also check for background restrictions on the app.

Browsers may pause background tabs or lock screen playback. Prefer the app for sustained background practice; see Lock Screen and Background Playback.

Report a Problem

Record the device and system version, headphones or output method, whether stems were in use, and what you did before the issue. Whether it also happens with wired headphones or speakers helps distinguish output-chain problems from project problems.
