Remove Video and Keep the Audio

Select Remove Video in the app's editing interface to turn a video project into an audio project, reducing storage used by the picture.

Processing

The app extracts the video's audio track. When the codec can be retained directly, it tries to remux without re-encoding; other cases may re-encode. Not every file can preserve its audio data exactly.

The size reduction depends on how much space the original video's picture and audio occupy.

After Processing

The video region disappears and the project retains only audio. Removing just the picture keeps clips, notes, and beats. If trimming is also applied, time ranges adjust to the trimmed result.

To retain the video version, save a separate project or export a project package first.
