Keyboard Shortcuts
The browser web app, browser extension, tablet app, and phone app all respond to a physical keyboard. Bluetooth page-turning pedals also send keyboard keys and can be used directly.
Press ? to open the shortcut table, or use “More → Keyboard Shortcuts” or “Settings → Buttons & Keys → Keyboard Shortcuts.” The table shows only keys available in the current interface. On tablets and phones, these two menu entries appear after the device has received a physical keypress.
Button Hints
Hover a mouse or trackpad pointer over a button for about half a second to see its shortcut. Buttons with a hold action also explain that action. Focusing a button with the keyboard shows the same hint. Touch input does not show hints.
Small keycaps beside tool tabs show their switching shortcuts. On tablets and phones, they appear after a physical keypress has been received.
Change Key Assignments
Select “Edit keys” at the shortcut table's upper right to edit. Opening it from Settings starts in editing mode.
- Each action supports up to two keys. Select a key slot, then press a new key; Esc cancels, and ⌫ clears the slot.
- If another action uses the new key, a prompt appears. Select “Use it here” to remove it from the original action. Project and playlist modes check conflicts separately, so the same key can perform different actions in each.
- Browser or system combinations such as ⌘W, ⌘Q, and ⌘Tab cannot be recorded.
- Left/right ⇧ and ⌥ pressed and released alone can only be assigned to actions that work while held: seek backward/forward, pads, and gear keys.
- The ↺ at the right of a row restores that action's defaults; “Reset all to defaults” at the bottom restores every assignment.
Changes are saved only on the current device; they are not saved or exported with projects.
Move Through the Interface with Tab
In wide browser windows and tablet layouts, Tab / ⇧Tab moves focus between buttons. Focus shows a theme-colored outline; mouse or finger taps do not show it.
- Enter activates the focused button. Space always plays/pauses and does not activate the button.
- Focused sliders, faders, and knobs use arrow keys to adjust, PgUp / PgDn for larger changes, and Home / End for the limits.
- The tool tab bar and settings categories each form one tab stop; use arrow keys to switch within them.
- Each wheel selector in loop settings forms one tab stop. ↑ / ↓ adjusts, PgUp / PgDn jumps 5 items, and Home / End reaches the limits.
- The whole pad grid is one tab stop. Move between pads with arrow keys and hold Enter to trigger a pad.
- The disc and waveform do not receive focus; use shortcuts to control them.
When Shortcuts Do Not Respond
- Shortcuts pause while typing in an input or while a menu, popover, or dialog is open. Esc closes the topmost menu or dialog.
- When a slider has focus, arrow keys adjust it. Buttons, tabs, pads, and sliders clicked with a mouse or finger do not retain focus; subsequent arrow keys and Enter run their normal shortcuts.
- With a button focused, Enter activates it.
- Keys are recognized by their physical positions. Changing keyboard layout or input method leaves keys in the same positions working as before.

On Windows keyboards, ⌘ means Ctrl, ⌥ means Alt, and ⇧ means Shift.
Auto-Speed, “Return to start when paused,” and Global Note have no default shortcuts.
Gear Keys
While a keyboard key is held, disc scrubbing uses the corresponding gear key's sensitivity, reverting on release. Add gear keys in “Settings → Jog → Gear Keys.” See Scrubbing and Manual Slow Playback.

If a side has only one gear key, both keyboard keys on that side use it. Keyboard gear changes apply only while held and do not lock.

Page-Turning Pedals and Media Keys
- Page-turning pedals commonly send ← / →, ↑ / ↓, or PgUp / PgDn, corresponding to seeking, switching clips, and switching tracks.
- In browsers, keyboard Play/Pause media keys control playback; Previous/Next Track media keys work like ← / →. In the app, media keys and headset buttons follow Customize Lock Screen Buttons.
