Loop a Section for Practice

Set A/B start and end points and enable looping to repeat a section. Once you have practiced a short phrase, adjust the range or save it as a clip for later.

Set the Range

  • Drag the ruler: drag horizontally across the ruler above the waveform to set both ends at once.
  • SET A / SET B: use the current playback position as the start or end. These work while playing or paused.
  • Drag the edges: once a range exists, fine-tune its left/right edges on the waveform.

On phones, A/B buttons are on the disc page; on tablets and in browsers, they are in the loop bar below the waveform. Selecting a saved clip shows its name in place of the buttons. Select “New” to set another section or “Edit” to change the current clip.

After beat detection, enable Snap to Beats to align endpoints with beat lines. For pickups, note tails, or ranges that do not span whole beats, disable snapping and set the range manually.

Start and Stop Looping

Select Loop in the bottom bar, then start playback. The switch only determines repetition; the selected range remains after turning it off.

If the position is already past B when looping is enabled, the next playback starts from A.

Hold Loop to open the menu for Auto-Speed and Loop Interval.

Save a Clip

The current loop is a temporary range; selecting another range replaces it. To keep multiple phrases, save and name each as a clip, then save the project. See Clips.

The Loop Does Not Join Smoothly

Listen to both A and B to check that they match the intended phrase boundaries. For whole-beat loops, detect beats, verify the lines, then enable snapping. Non-whole-beat loops also work; the range should match what you want to practice.

Clicks at the seam can also result from cutting through a waveform or from the source itself. Snapping alone cannot fix these. Move an endpoint slightly and listen again.
