Scrubbing and Manual Slow Playback

Press and drag the disc: sound follows your hand's direction and speed. Listen forward, then return to the same note and drag slowly to hear its attack, pitch changes, pronunciation, or ending clearly.

This helps you seek and also provides manual slow playback. You do not need to set a fixed speed first; slow your hand whenever you want to hear more detail.

How to Drag

Drag the disc's outer area; the center label has separate playback and speed controls. Use a mouse in the browser or a finger on phones and tablets.

• Drag during playback: temporarily scrub at your hand's speed, then resume playback afterward.
• Drag while paused: hear the positions you pass, then stop at the new position.
• Slow back-and-forth dragging: repeat a very short detail.

After finding a phrase's start, press SET A to make it the loop start. You can also enable Centre Playhead in the bottom bar and scrub the waveform directly.

Tap the full disc's center to play/pause; hold it and drag up/down to adjust playback speed. If the slider appears but you do not drag, releasing does not trigger playback.

Sensitivity, Inertia, and Friction

In “Settings → Jog,” adjust:

• Drag Sensitivity: how much audio the same movement covers. Low sensitivity suits close listening; high sensitivity covers longer passages.
• Inertia: Off stops immediately on release; gradual deceleration coasts for a while; constant speed continues at the release speed.
• Inertia Friction: the feel of deceleration while coasting.

To stop precisely on a note, slow your movement before releasing or turn inertia off. The mini disc has its own inertia setting.

Gear Keys

Under “Jog → Gear Keys,” each side of the disc has two slots. Tap an empty slot to add a key, or an existing key to set sensitivity or delete it. Each key supports 0.1×–4×; none are added by default.

With the default “Tap or Hold” behavior:

• A quick tap locks that key; tap again to unlock. Only one key can be locked at a time.
• Holding temporarily uses its sensitivity; releasing returns to the previously locked value or default.

You can also choose “Tap to Lock” or “Hold Only.” For example, put 0.5× on the left for close listening and 2× on the right for fast movement. You can switch while scrubbing, and the lock state persists across projects during the current app session.

With a keyboard, hold left/right ⇧ or left/right ⌥ (Shift and Alt on Windows) to temporarily use the corresponding gear key's sensitivity. See Keyboard Shortcuts.

The Current Mix Still Applies

With stems enabled, scrubbing uses the current stem mix. Mute, solo, volume, and pan changes affect what you hear.

An empty workspace has no audio to scrub; import media first. Bluetooth output may lag behind your hand movements. For lower latency, use wired headphones; see Sound and Bluetooth.
